Privacy Policy

When a site visitor leaves a comment, we collect the data appearing in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser string, to help detect spam.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also known as an acronym) may be sent to the Gravatar service to verify that you are using it. The privacy policy of the Gravatar service can be found here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will appear publicly in the context of your comment.

cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, your name, email address and website may be stored in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you don’t have to re-enter your information when you add another comment. These cookies are stored for one year.
When you visit our login page, we place a temporary cookie to see if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal information and is deleted when you close your browser.
When you log in, we also create several cookies to remember your login information and screen display choices. The login cookies are valid for two days, and the screen choices are valid for one year. If you choose the “Remember Me” option, your login information will remain active for two weeks. If you log out of your account, your login cookies will be deleted.

If you modify or publish an article, an additional cookie is stored in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal information and simply indicates the entry ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

How long we keep your data
when you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata will be stored indefinitely. This allows us to automatically recognize and approve all subsequent comments, instead of placing them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can review, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). Site administrators can also review and edit this information.
What rights do you have to your data?
Suggested text: If you have an account on this site or have added comments, you can request to receive an exported set of your personal information in our possession, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we delete your personal data. This does not apply to data that we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security reasons.
Where do we send your data?
Suggested text: Guest comments may be checked by an automated spam detection service.
